No worries. Yeah, they're a great live band, Whelan's was one of the best gigs I've been to.

Defos, FAA is such a strong album, Hearing Sometimes and Someday was the highlight for me, such amazing songs live! I'll be over in Haiti for the buildit week during their Belfast 1977 gig, very annoyed about that ha, they better do another 1977 gig!!

November 1st saw Snow Patrol make a long awaited return to Dublin for a once off fully acoustic gig in the intimate surroundings of Temple Bar's Button Factory. The Patrol are in the middle of a massive album promotion campaign, taking in several media-ran gigs ahead of the November 14th release of 'Fallen Empires', the band's 6th studio album.
The gig itself was, like myself, short and sweet. Lead singer, Gary Lightbody was accompanied on stage by guitarist, Nathan Connolly and pianist, Jonny McDaid. They played 13 songs altogether, with a brief interlude for a Q+A with Hotpress magazine. Some new tracks accompanied by old classics such as 'Run' and 'Set the Fire to the Third Bar' (accompanied by Marie Doyle Kennedy of The Commitments) had the crowd eating out of the palm of Llightbody's hand.
After a lengthy break from playing live shows, the lanky Irishman's voice seems stronger in the new songs, none more so than a beautiful track entitled 'New York.' The crowd, who had been chatty enough throughout, suddenly descended into silence as if hypnotised by Lightbody. 'New York' is most definitely the new 'Chasing Cars'. The show closes with crowd pleaser "Chocolate" and the crowd disperse to count down the days until the album release and the next Dublin shows in January of next year.

Anyone going to Snow Patrol in Phoenix Park in July? The Temper Trap announced as support today also (yay), tickets are a bit steep at 60quid though, but I'm tempted!
