Jaysus - people are actually buying tickets for Delorentos gigs in advance now? Whatever next. Though in fairness, I think that's one of the signs of being on yer way, band-wise. I'm compiling the other signs into a comprehensive list of "signs-wot-show-you-might-be-making-it". So far I have -people asking for tabs -crowd-surfing at your gigs -people wanting their photo taken with you -fan sites -autographing cleavage, and not your female friends' cleavage, and not in an ironic way -obscure live sitting-room session recordings popping up on Limewire -people wanting a precise breakdown of every piece of musical equipment you've ever used -gigs selling out in advance (an obvious one) -and last but not least, that old dude selling bootleg tapes of your stuff from his pram on O'Connell Bridge. (Or was that the early 90s...I'm never sure) Anyone any more ideas??? Once I have a thorough list, I'll send it off to the Metro letter's section. I actually will Fi.

How about being recognised walking through dublin? Yup, although the thing is, Dublin it just a big filthy cesspool of incest and crossed friendships and acquaintance etc, especially where the music scene is concerned, so.... How about modifying it - "you know you're making it when someone recognises you walking through Dublin and then, later on in the pub, turns to their friends and says 'here, d'you know who I saw coming out of that new fancy food shop on exchequer st with a big wodge of parmesan in one hand and a bag of posh imported food in the other? Yer man from [insert band name].' To which the friends reply, 'No way! His brother goes to college with my cousin. Sound bloke. That's gas'". etc See?

haha i'll be sure to get that issue of metro Well yknow, it's as interesting and informative as anything else they print on their letters page. They once printed a letter that went something like "Dear everybody, I just wanted to let you know that today, I have the day off. So while you're reading this on your morning commute, I'm still tucked up in bed. All the best. "
